Ciao Ontake Mount Resort is located on the northern slopes of Mt Ontake in Takayama City, Gifu Prefecture. Mt Ontake is the 14th highest mountain and second highest volcano in Japan. This ski area was known as Ciao Ontake Snow Resort until 2018. The base of the resort is located at an altitude of 1,810m with the summit reaching 2,190m - an 8 person gondola lift goes from base to summit. The resort has been closed since 2018 and the facilities remain in place.
