Yahiko Sancho
Yahiko Village, Niigata Prefecture
弥彦山頂スキー場 新潟県弥彦村
Yahiko Sancho was a ski area on 634-metre Mount Yahiko, right on the border of Yahiko Village and Niigata City in Niigata Prefecture. The famous Yahiko Shrine is by the main village area at the base of the mountain. A Ropeway lift still goes from the base of the mountain to close to where the ski area used to be. The Yahiko Sancho ski area was open between 1958 and 1975.
