Kidoike was a ski area located in Yamanouchi Town in the northern region of Nagano Prefecture. It was one of the ski areas that are collectively known as Shiga Kogen, but it was not physically connected with any other of those ski areas. Kidoike is in the southern region of Shiga Kogen, between Hasuike and Kumanoyu. It was operated by the base hotel and featured one pair lift that spanned the hill with a mid-point for alighting.

Further Information

  • The pair lift that spanned the hill was installed in 1955
    　
  • You could get on the lift from either side of the hill, alighting at the top
    　

  • The nearby Kumanoyu and Yokoteyama ski areas are separate from the rest of the Shiga Kogen ski areas...
    　

  • ...but Kidoike was one of only a few parts of Shiga Kogen that was not connected to any another of the ski areas by ski lift or course
    　

  • The lift was operated by the Kidoike Onsen Hotel  木戸池温泉ホテル  which is located by the base and remains operating
    　
  • The ski lift has been removed
