Jizo Toge was a ski area located close in the southern area of Nagano City in what used to be Matsushiro Town. The old ski area is hidden just off the Jizo Toge road and is one of those places that most people probably never knew existed. The was apparently never any kind of ski lift operating here and exact opening and closing dates are unconfirmed.

  • Shin Jizo Toge  地蔵峠  is the name of the mountain pass road heading south from the Matsushiro area of Nagano City
    　
  • It is also known as the Nagano Sanada Line  長野真田線
    　
  • The location of the ski area called Jizo Toge was the area close to the border with Ueda City  上田市
    　
  • The opening and closing dates of Jizo Toge Ski Area are both unconfirmed
    　
  • It appears likely that there was skiing here around the 1960s
    　
  • There was apparently no ski lift
    　
  • Trees are now growing on what used to be the ski slope
    　
  • The Sportsland Shinshu  スポーツランド信州  car racing track is a few hundred metres further along the road
