Parc Sugou

Parc Sugou was a ski area in the Furukawa town area of what is now Hida City in the northern region of Gifu Prefecture. It's southern facing slopes are just a few kilometres from the larger Star Spur Ryokufu Resort Hida Nagareha ski area. Parc Sugou was known under various names during the period of operation between 1963 and 2003. It was particularly popular with snowboarders.

Further Information

  • Dates are unconfirmed, but this ski hill has also been known as Snowland Sugou  スノーランドすごう  and Sawayaka Sugou Kogen  さわやか数河高原  as well as possibly just Sugou  数河スキー場
    　
  • When this ski area was open, the location was known as Furukawa Town  古川町
    　
  • Sugou Kogen  数河高原  is the name of the highland area of Furukawa Town
    　
  • The name Parc Sugou was also sometimes written as  パルク数河
    　
  • In January 2004, Furukawa Town merged with neighbouring towns and villages to become part of Hida City  飛騨市
    　
  • Parc Sugou featured a 100m half-pipe and was especially popular with snowboarders
    　
  • After closing as a ski hill, a company running snowmobile experiences started operating at the base area
    　
  • In 2022 there are some no-entry signs around the base area

About 25.5km from the Takayama IC exit of the Chubu Jukan Expressway.
About 11km from Hida Hosoe Station and 16km from Hida Furukawa Station on the Takayama Honsen Line.
