Itoshiro Charlottetown was a ski area located in the Itoshiro neighbourhood of Gujo City in Gifu Prefecture, close to the border with Fukui Prefecture. It was about 13km off Route 158, to the west of the many ski and snowboard resorts in the Takasu region of the city. There were originally five lifts operating at Itoshiro Charlottetown, but it was scaled down to just three lifts before closing in 2011.

Further Information

	
				Itoshiro  石徹白  is the name of neighbourhood

Itoshiro was once a village and part of Fukui Prefecture

In 1958, part of Itoshiro village became part of
					Shirotori Town  白鳥町, which is in Gifu Prefecture

Then in 2004, Shirotori Town became part of
					Gujo City  郡上市

The 'Charlottetown' part of the name comes from the novel 
					Anne of Green Gables  赤毛のアン

The course names of the ski area were also inspired by the novel

For some years before closing, only three lifts were operating

There was no night skiing but Itoshiro Charlottetown opened at 7:00am on weekends in peak season

This area became particularly popular with snowboarders and there was a 120m half pipe near base

The lifts and facilities have almost all been removed

All that remains of the ski area is a concrete foundation around where the quad lift used to be and a small building by the side
