Ohara
Uonuma City, Niigata Prefecture
大原スキー場 新潟県魚沼市
Ohara is a ski area located in the northern-eastern region of Uonuma City, in what used to be known as Irihirose Village. It is close to the Niigata and Fukushima prefectural border. The Route 252 road continues into Fukushima Prefecture from this point but is closed during the winter months. Ohara was originally known as Kanetsu Kokusai Ohara. After a number of years struggling to remain open for various reasons, Ohara did not open for the 2019-2020 winter season. At the time of writing there is no information available regarding the chance of a re-opening.
