Arai Funaokayama was a ski area located in the Arai region of what is now part of Myoko City. It is located close to the town area of Arai and the base is literally down at town level. The top has an elevation of just 180 metres. It used to be popular with local families and children but with less snowfall in recent years and declining numbers, it closed in 2004.

About 6km from the Nakago IC exit and 10km from the Joetsu Takada IC exit of the Joshinetsu Expressway.
