Teine Senshaku

手稲千尺スキー場　北海道札幌市

Teine Senshaku was a ski area located to the west of central Sapporo City in Hokkaido. It was known as being one part of the connected Teine Olympia Ski Area, as well as being an independent ski area using the name Teine Senshaku. It opened around the time of the 1972 Sapporo Olympics with four single lifts and a rope tow. Teine Senshaku closed in 1999.

  • Teine Olympia Ski Area  テイネオリンピアスキー場  opened in 1965
    　

  • It was host to various events of the 1972 Sapporo Winter Olympics 1972年札幌オリンピック
    　

  • Teine Senshaku Ski Area opened around the same time
    　

  • It was course and lift connected with the Shirakaba area of Teine Olympia at the top
    　

  • In some guide books Teine Senshaku was listed as being one area of Teine Olympia
    　

  • However, it was also often listed and known as an independent ski area
    　

  • The most popular feature of this ski area was the 1500m Senshaku Downhill course 千尺ダウンヒルコース 
    　

  • There were two sets of single ski lifts running parallel and a rope tow lift in the base area
    　

  • The abandoned ski lifts remain in place, as does the collapsed Senshaku House  千尺ハウス  base building
    　

  • To the south of Teine Olympia, the Teine Highland Ski Area テイネハイランドスキー場  opened in 1974
    　

  • In 2005, Teine Olympia and Teine Highland joined up to be known collectively as Sapporo Teine  サッポロテイネ
