Shirao

しらおスキー場　岐阜県郡上市

Shirao was a ski area located on the southwestern slopes of Shiraoyama in Gujo City in Gifu Prefecture, to the south of the main ski and snowboard resorts in the region. This area was originally known as Snow Park Shirao before changing to Daily Shirotori Snow Resort and eventually to just Shirao. The facilities remain in place in 2020.

  • In 2001 it changed name to Daily Shirotori Snow Resort  デイリー白鳥スノーリゾート

  • Shirao was particularly popular with snowboarders
    　
  • At one point it opened at 4:00am on weekends
    　
  • Before closing in 2018, a one-day weekday lift ticket was just 2,000 yen
