Mishima Choei was a town-operated ski area in Mishima Town in the western region of Fukushima Prefecture. This is one of those small local ski areas for which very little information can be confirmed. It had at least one rope tow lift, possibly up to three at one time, and was seemingly mainly used by locals. It is now thought to used be used as a ‘playing in the snow’ area.

  • Mishima Choei was located in Mishima Town and operated by the town, hence the name
    　
  • The ski area was only small, with a gentle slope and one confirmed rope tow lift
    　
  • There were possibly up to three rope tow lifts used at one time
    　
  • Mishima Choei was almost never mentioned in ski area guidebooks
    　
  • Recent information about this ski area is difficult to confirm, but it appears that it was last 'open' in the 2021-2022 season
    　
  • ...though that may have just been for 'playing in the snow' activities (unclear if the rope tow was still operating)
    　
  • During a visit to the location in May 2024, the area was tranquil, with no people around
    　
  • What looks like part of an old rope tow lift remains
