Yokote Koen
Yokote City, Akita Prefecture
横手公園スキー場 秋田県横手市
Yokote Koen was a ski area close to the central area of Yokote City in Akita Prefecture. This ski area initially opened in 1929. Unfortunately, record rainfall caused some landslides in 2017, and the ski area never recovered. The costs of repairing the slopes and updating the ski lift were deemed too high, and in 2020 it was announced that the ski area would be permanently closed.
